Learn to wait upon The Lord

ISAIAH 40:31;

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint

Every good thing in life takes time.
*a time to be born
*a time to grow
*a time to mature
*a time to learn
*a time to experience
*a time to believe
*a time to be reveled/manifested
Christian life is not a one-night maturing process . It takes time and trust.

God has promised us all good things in life,i.e;
His Strength in our weakness
His grace in our fate
His mercy in our dependency
His goodness to prevail in our badness
Yes all these are promises. So meaning it shall come to pass and will never fail. But many times when we ask God and things don’t happen we feel that God has failed us or forgotten us.
No, that is so wrong. God dint fail us but it is we who have failed to understand Him and to wait upon Him.

God did promise us that we would do mighty things as He

did.But how&when?
Not everyone who calls themselves Christians/child of God can claim Gods authority.
To claim God’s grace,power and authority one needs to prove that he/she is capable to workout things in the right manner as God commands.

While we are to wait upon God to receive the strength and anointing, there are two types in the same:

  •   Active waiting process
  •   Inactive waiting process

You need to understand both if these processes in order to discern why you still haven’t received the promise that God has promised you.
Not all who wait will be strengthened at the end. It depends on the type of wait you do choose to do.
Let me explain to you the two waiting process from the bible verse
Matthew 25 1-13; Read the full verse here

These verses are about the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins. God spoke out this parable to His disciples.
When we read the full verse we could clearly get to know the difference between the both and why God specifically mentioned them as wise & foolish. We could see that they both had one prime purpose i.e to go with the bridegroom but one main attribute was lacking for the foolish one’s so they were left behind.
Lets see the difference
  • ·       The wise virgins were awake
  •      They had both the lamp & the oil
  • ·       They knew that the bridegroom can come at any moment and was ready
  • ·       They never gave upon their oil when the foolish one’s asked for it
  • ·       They knew what to do at all situation. They acted wisely.

 What did the foolish virgins do
  • ·        They all slumbered and slept
  • ·        They took no oil with them & had only the lamp
  • ·        They weren’t ready for the bridegroom
  • ·        They never knew what to do at the important situation as they were lazy &foolish
  • ·        At the last moment when everything was at hand they went to borrow oil which is why they they lost it all.
Where Lamp= Our body
Oil= Prayer & reading God's word
Bridegroom= Our Blessing
As we could see that only when we have an never-ending prayer life it will awaken and strengthen both our spirit and body and will help us to stay focused on our blessing and not slumber like the foolish virgins. A daily prayer life is very efficient to stay focused and to fight against the schemes of the devil. Cause only through prayer and meditating on God's word our Spirit can get recharged and only through the spirit we can hear God's voice and get connected, without which we can't overcome the weakness of the flesh.
To fight the flesh the Spirit needs to be fed & strengthened by His word. So let's be wise like the 5 wise virgins and receive the blessing what God has promised.
If we let go of anything let it be the prayer life\reading his word then we'll lose our blessing like the 5 foolish virgins who missed the bridegroom and we can never blame anyone for that. God makes no mistakes. It's only because of our foolish acts that we end up loosing our blessings and anointing.

To prove oneself as God’s child and to inherit all the blessings & anointing one needs to do following  things:

1.Talk with God & hear His voice:

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.(Jeremiah 33:3)

if anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.(MARK4:24)

God calls to us and is ready to speak with us so that we can talk with Him, grow with Him and learn His ways so that we can be a blessing to many.

  • God called out to Samuel
1samuel 3:10;And the Lord came and stood, calling as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”

2.Walk with God & do as He says:

For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.(EPHESIANS 2:10)

Only when we love someone we will want walk with them so that we can understand their ways, plans, thoughts and feelings. When we understand all of their senses then we can easily adapt ourselves to their ways when we get to know that they want only the good for us.
It’s the same way with God. He loved us before we were even formed in our mother’s womb. He carved us beautifully and fearfully. So it is always clear that God will forever love us and now it’s upto us to move closer to God to understand His ways & plans. God always wishes the best for us. Imagine if our worldly parents could wish so much goodness in our lives then think about the God who created us just like Him ..How much more will he love us and wishes to do the best for us. To experience that beautiful relation-ship the only thing is we need to understand Him first that can only happen by walking with God everyday of our lives i.e through prayers and meditating God’s word.

  • Samuel listens to God’s voice and does as He says
1Samuel 3:10; And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant hears.”
1Samuel 3:18; Then Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him.

3.Wait upon God & see blessings overtake:

DUETRONOMY 28:1; “Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
So this is the promise God gives to the children who can obey to His voice and wait upon Him.

We could see here that Samuel turned out to be one of the greatest prophet in the Bible just cause he humbled himself and walked with God all his life.

  • Samuel as the greatest prophet

In 1 Samuel 3:19 we can read that;
Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all came to know that Samuel was established as a prophet of the Lord.
Since Samuel did all that the Lord told him, he name was established all around his people and he was termed blessed.

What happens when you don’t pray & wait upon God?
PROVERBS 28:9;“If one turns away his ear from hearing My teachings,even his prayer is not heard.”

Until next time adios amigos
